At the request of the federal government, SNCB, STIB, De Lijn and TEC reached a heads of agreement on a general carrier card for transport tickets in 2009. The idea was to allow travellers to switch easily from one transport network to another. In collaboration with STIB, SNCB took the necessary steps to create the MoBIB card. Ypto helped to provide this functionality.
