You acquire knowledge about the business needs and technical realisations to coordinate the developers and integration engineers, that are internal, with our technical outsourcing partner or with suppliers.

The recently approved NMBS-SNCB « Rail Vision 2040 » has the ambitious goal to make sure that more people, companies & organisations choose the train as their preferred mobility tool. Not to forget, after all, rail being the most climate-friendly mode of public transport compared to other modes of public transport today.

Next to that, in a world of modern and sustainable mobility, new services and applications using digital technology are being implemented. Leading to increased and better information and communication to rail passengers and rail crew. Setting up diverse channels for purchasing tickets, a better monitoring of assets and further increase automating operational processes. Ultimately improving efficiency and service offering.

The job

As a Technical Lead you will work within the Train planning area. This important pillar of the TSP department manage all the applications dedicated for planning part of the running trains.
You will be the Technical Lead for several ongoing projects, e.g. to develop applications for follow-up of driver’s qualifications and security certificates, graphical planning of local shunting yards activities and trains.

Requirements

Technical skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of development experience in Microsoft technologies
  • Strong hands-on application architecture and design patterns
  • REST APIs design expertise
  • Visual Studio 2019 onward, Visual Studio Code
  • Microsoft .Net Core web API
  • Demonstrable experience in Windows presentation foundation (WPF)
  • Nodejs, Javascript, C# or Java
  • Azure API Manager, Enterprise service bus, Firewall etc.
  • MS SQL Server or Oracle databases
  • Azure DevOps, solid understating of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in low code (e.g. Mendix) is nice to have
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the market
  • Experience coordinating the implementation by Middleware teams (e.g. Axway, API Manager, ESB, SAP PI/PO, etc.)
Soft skills
  • Professional knowledge of English and fluent in of one of the local languages (French or Dutch) and at least basic notions of the other language
  • You are able to lead and coach developers with different level of experience
  • You’re a team player and you like working with others
  • Strong listening & communication skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Pragmatic & hands-on
  • Can-do attitudeAble to design technical solutions, break down the work in packages and estimate the effort of different roles
Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent by experience
  • Ideally you have a technical background
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical content
  • Experience managing people and geographically distributed teams working on different project
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex technical information clearly to a technical audience
  • Experience planning and delivering documentation
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams on products for a technical audience, such as developers, DevOps, IT professionals, engineers or scientists
  • Experience working with cloud services or other developer-focused products
  • Experience in Public Transport Sector is a plus
