In this role, you'll be a key player in our Data & Analytics team, working behind the scenes to leverage data for better decision-making and streamlined processes.


Here's what you'll do:

  • Talk to the Train People: Gather and document reporting needs from NMBS departments and translate them into clear instructions for developers.
  • Industry Expert: Stay on top of transport plans and operations, contributing to initiatives that improve train punctuality and digitize conductor and driver workflows.
  • Data Detective: Analyze data on traffic incidents, safety, energy use, and more to identify areas for improvement.
  • Reporting Specialist: Provide recommendations and best practices on reporting techniques to the business, using mockups and proof-of-concepts.
  • Quality Assurance: Validate reports and dashboards built by internal or external developers, ensuring they meet business requirements.
  • Knowledge Base Builder: Document solutions and keep them up-to-date, becoming the go-to person for colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • Roadmap Collaborator: Work with users, vendors, and others to develop and manage roadmaps for improvements, bug fixes, and incident resolution.
  • Technical Fit: Make sure everything aligns with existing business and solution architecture, collaborating with architects when needed.
  • Testing Pro: Help develop test scenarios, conduct functional testing, and clean up data.

Requirements

You're the Ideal Candidate if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, etc.).
  • Know Agile Scrum methodologies inside and out.
  • Are a master of reporting tools like SAP BW, SAP BW4/H, Webi, BO, and PowerBI. Bonus points for SAS knowledge.
  • Can analyze data using different techniques (use cases, scenario development, etc.).
  • Speak and write fluently in Dutch and/or French, and English.
  • Communicate effectively with all kinds of people.
  • Work methodically, accurately, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Are a proactive problem solver who focuses on practical solutions and stays organized.
