For the POWER project, we are looking for a functional analyst to extend the existing team. The program deliverables are web interfaces and a new application to support the NMBS operational personnel in their day-to-day duties.

Responsibilities

As Functional Analyst, you will support a development team responsible to deliver the business demands for NMBS operational staff. You will translate the business needs into UI design, functional and technical analyses and provide them to front and back-end developers.

Testing, documentation, preparation & support of production deployments are as well part of the responsibilities of the development team.

You will be part of the business area “Rail Information Mobile - RIM” within Ypto.

  • You will gather from NMBS business requirements for operational staff (train managers, stations personnel, Securail agents) and help defining the backlog for the development team
  • You will use your experience as functional/business analyst to translate these demands into features & epics for the development team
  • You will suggest functional improvements to existing applications and make sure these are fitting needs from the field/the end-users
  • You analyze bugs and data quality issues in NMBS applications and suggest improvements to fix these issues
  • You will document process/information streams and applications, provide reports & dashboards
  • You will deliver test scenarios
  • You participate in testing of the deliverables
  • You will liaise with NMBS business, functional analysts, developers, solution/domain/entreprise architects
  • You will actively participate in an Agile delivery team

Requirements

  • Minimal 5 years of experience in ICT
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent cooperation skills
  • Belgian residency and on-premises availability up to 5 days a week.
  • Fluent in English (C1+) is a must; fluent in either French (B2+) or Dutch (B2+), excellent communication skills.
  • Experience as member of an agile development/delivery team & Scrum ceremonies
  • Experience with Xamarin & .net is a plus
  • Experience in design or implementations of IT applications is a plus
  • Deep knowledge as end-user of MS Office, JIRA, Confluence…
  • Result oriented & teamplayer mindset
  • Resistant to stress
  • Experience in the railway sector is a plus
