The recently approved NMBS-SNCB « Rail Vision 2040 » has the ambitious goal to make sure that more people, companies & organizations choose the train as their preferred mobility tool. Not to forget, after all, rail being the most climate-friendly mode of public transport compared to other modes of public transport today.

Next to that, in a world of modern and sustainable mobility, new services and applications using digital technology are being implemented. Leading to increased and better information and communication to rail passengers and rail crew. Setting up diverse channels for purchasing tickets, a better monitoring of assets and further increase automating operational processes. Ultimately improving efficiency and service offering.

An ambitious goal that we’re building and realising: further digitalising SNCB – NMBS, offering innovative solutions and enabling flexible services with a key focus on the end user.

As Teamlead Architecture you will work within the Solution Delivery SPS department, which stands for Sales, Passenger & Security Information. This department is the IT partner of the NMBS-SNCB Directorates Sales & Marketing and Passengers Transport.

Part of the time you take up the role as teamlead, the other part of the time as a domain architect. As a team you shape the long-term architectural vision that allows the SNCB to realize their digital ambitions. Together with the SNCB and with other experts in strategy, product, design, architecture, and engineering, you will facilitate the architectural process for new value propositions, business models, digital platforms, or services. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Solution Architecture and Domain Architecture, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

Your responsibilities are the following:

As teamlead:

  • Collaborate with the different business areas in order to plan team’s focus.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure that their needs are being met
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their goals and professional development
  • Guide and mentor team members to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions

As domain architect:

  • Planning, execution & delivery:
    • Act as reliable partner towards NMBS-SNCB in building the strategic IT planning.
    • Understand the bigger picture, shape the desired domain architecture and support the software delivery.
    • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that solutions align with business requirements and goals
  • Shape the desired architecture:
    • Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to ensure that the team is up-to-date with industry trends
    • Take the lead in modeling the strategic and future-proof product & platform architecture
    • Seamlessly bridge the business and technological perspectives.

Exigences

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum relevant working experience of 10 years within a IT/delivery environment of which at least 5 years as Architect and 3 years as Teamlead.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver complex IT solutions
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team of architects
  • You have strong skills in stakeholder management (technical and management profiles) and are an excellent communicator with a can-do mindset.
  • You have a technical background allowing you to manage the technology product
  • You have an excellent understanding of common software engineering practices (CI/CD, DevOps, Shift left, ...) and architecture modeling practices.
  • Innovation driven – pro-active look into the market on what technologies are available, what the competition is doing etc... Drawing on a whiteboard to facilitate a debate comes naturally to you
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French and have a proficient knowledge of English.

Nous discutons également du questionnaire en ligne que vous aurez rempli avant l’entretien.
