Customer Experience Solutions is responsible for customer-facing IT systems of SNCB, including commercial channels and products, passenger information systems and systems for stations, facilities and buildings.
As a Domain Architect you are responsible for the IT architecture of a business domain at enterprise level. You work together on the corporate business capability map (what) linking to the (how) people, processes, data and systems realizing them. You work closely together with portfolio management to define Roadmaps based on the needs of the business and future target state architectures. In case of projects you assure the proper guidance within the established reference architecture and IT vision and strategy.
Job Description & Responsibilities
It's your responsibility to ensure that the architecture of the products you're assigned to is sound, well-understood and continues to evolve in a direction that best support the business case and follows the existing guardrails.
To a great extent, that means facilitating the architectural debate, ensuring the architectural decisions are made consciously and its trade-offs (or derived risks) are well understood, both internally (towards the involved teams) as externally (towards our client's stakeholders).
You're a key partner that works between business stakeholders, IT managers, enterprise architects, domain architects and delivery teams.
You ensure that the solution architecture is correctly implemented by validating the solution design and following up its implementation.
You also ensure knowledge is shared across your colleagues.
You evaluate project constrains to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and perform re-engineering if required.
You update stakeholders about any issues connected to the architecture.
You take care of the architectural analysis of epics.
Master in Informatics or Master in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent by experience
You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as solution architect
You're familiar with the principles, opportunities and challenges of modern architectural paradigms and you know how to apply them.
From a technical point of view, you have a broad knowledge in terms of technologies; allowing you to collaborate efficiently with experts while being able to assess the impact of a technological choice on the architectural design. Amongst others, this includes:
Cloud Solutions
Docker and Kubernetes
Databases systems (relational, document, key/value, graph, search, datawarehouse,..) and data engineering frameworks
Messaging & eventing systems
Connectivity & networking concepts
Communication protocols and technologies (HTTP, WS, REST, OAuth, OIDC, SAML, graphql,...)
Proven hands-on experience API design with Swagger
Proven hands-on experience with ArchiMate.
You're familiar with the challenges posed by creating secure software and how to manage them
You've got proven experience with common software engineering practices (SDLC, devops,... ) and architecture modelling practices & languages (UML, EER, Swagger, Archimate, …).
You’re always keen to learn new things, share your knowledge, embrace change and learn from past experiences. Drawing on a whiteboard to facilitate a debate comes natural to you.
You’re able to work in a team.
You have an affinity with product design and engineering top-notch digital products.
You’re able to handle the pressure and flexibility of a dynamic company.
You have excellent communication skill and are able to communicate in both technical and layman’s terms.
