Within the Data & Analytics team, you work as an Application Analyst for the projects and support of the HR Directorate of NMBS.

  • You map and document the needs of NMBS in terms of the reports and dashboards for which you are responsible.
  • You analyze the AS IS reporting and translate it into the future Solution Architecture.
  • You participate in the migration planning from the AS IS environment to the TO BE architecture and you are the SPOC between Business and IT.
  • You have regular contact with various departments and their directors.
  • You have a more than decent knowledge of Business processes in the broad sense of the word, you can think transversally across all Directorates and Business domains, you can easily immerse yourself in processes that you are not yet familiar with today and you can maintain a helicopter view to think of End-To-End solutions.
  • You translate these needs into concrete functional specifications for specific reporting purposes.
  • You provide input and make proposals regarding reporting techniques to the business, through mock-ups, POCs and best practices.
  • You validate the reports and dashboards, which are developed by an internal or external developer.
  • You document the solutions and keep this documentation up-to-date.
  • You regularly coordinate with users, suppliers and other stakeholders to be able to draw up and manage the necessary roadmaps (improvements, bugs, incidents).
  • As an expert of the application(s), reports and dashboards that you manage, you are the point of contact for colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • You ensure at all times the coherence with the existing business and solution architecture and consult with the Enterprise, System and Solution Architects if necessary.
  • You participate in the development of test scenarios, functional testing and data cleaning.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, …)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile Scrum, Kanban
  • Thorough knowledge of, and proven experience with (reporting) tools Microsoft PowerBi, SAP BW, SAP BW4/H, SAC, Webi, BO, AFO.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Azure Enterprise BI Solution Architecture, Products and Services.
  • Knowledge of various analysis techniques (use cases, scenario writing, ...)
  • Experience with the development of migration plans and methods
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French and English, both spoken and written
  • Good communication skills
  • Methodical, accurate and with an eye for detail
  • Proactive, strong problem-solving and hands-on, organized
